Hello! I'm Amir, a Software Engineer and Computing Science PhD student at Simon Fraser University. I have professional experience in full-stack web development and AI-powered applications, and I'm passionate about helping others discover the exciting world of programming.

My combination of academic knowledge, industry experience, and teaching background allows me to explain programming concepts clearly and connect theory to real-world applications. I understand that learning to code can feel challenging at first, so I create a supportive, friendly environment where questions are always welcome and mistakes are part of the learning process.

Whether you're a complete beginner, a university student looking for extra support, or someone eager to develop practical software development skills, I'll tailor our lessons to your goals and learning pace. We can work through challenging concepts, practice problem-solving, debug code together, and build projects that help you apply what you've learned.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on understanding concepts rather than memorizing code. I break complex topics into simple, manageable steps and use practical examples, visual explanations, and hands-on exercises to make learning easier. I encourage students to ask questions, experiment with different solutions, and learn from their mistakes. I also adapt my teaching style to each student's background, pace, and learning goals.

As both a software engineer and a PhD student, I bring together real-world development experience and an analytical approach to problem-solving. I have experience working with modern web technologies and AI systems, and I understand the importance of writing clean, maintainable code. My goal is not simply to help students complete an exercise, but to develop their ability to think independently, debug problems, and build projects with confidence.

My lessons are suitable for beginners, high school students, university students, and individuals looking to develop practical programming skills or transition into software development. I can help with programming fundamentals, Python, JavaScript, React, web development concepts, debugging, and project-based learning. Whether you are learning to code for the first time, need support with university coursework, or want to build your first application, I tailor each lesson to your needs and goals.
