About Tom

I am currently completing my PhD in the History of Art at UCL. I have over one hundred hours of teaching experience and am also a published writer and freelance lecturer. I hold undergraduate and MPhil degrees in Literature and History from the University of Manchester and the University of Cambridge. Before beginning my PhD I enjoyed working in the arts and marketing. I am a creative and supportive teacher, and want to use my extensive experience of the Higher Education and Arts sectors to help students achieve their goals.

About the lesson

My outstanding academic background is the foundation of my tutoring approach, and I combine my specialised knowledge with a genuine enthusiasm for my subject areas. I am organised, reliable, and dedicated to my students, favouring a teaching style which centres dialogue and discussion. As a tutor I make sure lessons are well structured and engaging, deigning them so that tutees will build their confidence as well as improve their grades.
