About Yushi
I am a PhD candidate in Linguistics and Education at King’s College London, with an MA in Education from UCL and a CELTA qualification. I have over two years of teaching experience, including full-time work as an IELTS and academic English teacher.
My teaching is learner-centered, supportive, and tailored to individual goals. I specialize in helping students improve their speaking, writing, and overall communication skills. I provide clear explanations, structured lessons, and detailed feedback to ensure steady and measurable progress.

-My teaching approach is learner-centered and communicative. I focus on developing students’ communicative competence through interactive tasks, while also supporting accuracy in vocabulary and pronunciation. I tailor lessons to individual learner needs, using a range of materials and activities to develop skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing. I also provide detailed formative feedback to support learners’ progress, particularly in academic writing, coherence, and argumentation.
-A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, although I can offer flexible lesson lengths (e.g. 45, 90, or 120 minutes) depending on learners’ needs and goals.
-I am currently a PhD candidate in Linguistics and Education at King’s College London and hold an MA in Education from UCL. I have a CELTA qualification and over three years of teaching experience. My experience includes designing teaching materials, delivering lessons, and providing individualized feedback to learners from diverse backgrounds.
-My lessons are suitable for adolescents and adult learners at all levels, from beginners to advanced. I teach Mandarin (beginner to advanced) and English (general English, EAP, and IELTS preparation). I have experience working with learners from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds and adapt my teaching to meet a wide range of learning goals.
