PhD is Spanish, 20 years experience teaching all levels, experience in several Spanish language cultural backgrounds.

Dr. Debra Lee-DiStefano is dedicated to the teaching and continuous learning of Spanish. She is kind, intelligent, and reliable. She is always willing to help and will go out of her way for students. Her Spanish is excellent and she has many years of teaching experience.

Dr. Lee-DiStefano was a teacher of mine every year during my undergraduate studies. From day 1 with her classes, she sets an expectation for her students. This expectation is that students not do homework or studying just for a grade, but rather that they actually learn and apply their Spanish skills/ course content. The standard is high, but Dr. Lee is always accesible to help students work through their confusion or re approach problems from a different perspective. She, as a teacher and human being, is charismatic and understanding. She has a strong moral code, and is passionate about all that she does. Because of these features as a teacher, I believe she pushed me to be not only a better student, but a better learner and person through her exemplary humility, professionalism, and constant pursuit of knowledge

Dr. Debra is a wonderful educator. I have had the opportunity to teach alongside her and learn a few skills from watching her navigate a variety of scenarios in a challenging school setting. She is exceptionally proficient in Spanish, but most importantly she is in tune with a variety of Latin American cultures and goes the extra mile to connect with her students through cultural aspects. Dr. Deb is able to communicate thoroughly and adapt to different cultural dialects, which is a quality I truly appreciate.
