About Shia
I have a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and a strong background in math, science, statistics, and scientific problem-solving. Throughout my academic and research career, I have developed extensive experience explaining complex concepts in clear, approachable ways. I am patient, encouraging, and focused on helping students build confidence rather than simply giving them answers. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations and examples to match their needs. My goal is to create a supportive learning environment where K–12 students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing the skills they need to succeed independently.

I tailor each lesson to the student’s grade level, learning style, and individual needs. I tutor K–12 students in math, science, and statistics, with an emphasis on breaking difficult concepts into simple, manageable steps. A typical lesson includes reviewing key concepts, working through examples together, and practicing problems until the student feels confident solving them independently. I focus on building strong fundamentals, improving problem-solving skills, and helping students understand why an answer works rather than simply memorizing formulas. My lessons are ideal for students who need homework help, test preparation, extra practice, or additional support keeping up with their classes. For those wanting help with college applications, I can offer my services reading over material.
