About Shivani
Hi, I'm Shivani — Your Sociology Mentor
I hold both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Sociology from one of India's most prestigious universities for Social Sciences, giving me a strong and well-rounded foundation in the subject.
I have qualified the UGC NET examination, a national-level test that validates subject expertise and teaching eligibility — which means you are learning from someone who has been academically tested and recognized at the national level.
I am currently enrolled in a PhD program at one of India's top universities, supported by a national fellowship — a merit-based recognition awarded to only a select few researchers across the country.

My classes are specifically designed for undergraduate students who are stepping into the world of Sociology for the very first time. No prior knowledge is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to see the world differently.
We begin from the ground up, building a strong conceptual foundation through the works of Classical thinkers like Durkheim, Marx, and Weber, understanding how their ideas of social structure, conflict, and rationalization still shape our world today. From there, we move into Postmodern perspectives — exploring thinkers like Foucault, Baudrillard, and Derrida — challenging everything we thought we knew about society, power, and knowledge. Finally, we engage with Contemporary sociological thought, connecting theories to present-day social realities like identity politics, globalization, and digital society.
Each class follows a clear structure — concept introduction, theoretical application, and real-world connection — ensuring that even the most complex ideas feel accessible and logical. Critical thinking, open dialogue, and structured note-making are at the core of every session.
