About Myles
I am a kind and approachable tutor with a passion for science! I have spent 9 of the last 10 years in TCD studying science in some shape or form and I am proud to call myself a scientist. I also spent a year working for a major pharmaceutical company.
I graduated with a First Class Honors in medicinal chemistry from Trinity. In 2021/22 I completed my Master's degree in Neuroscience. In 2022, I was awarded a prestigious scholarship from Research Ireland to carry out PhD research with the Neuropharmacology research group in Trinity.
As part of my PhD, I research the brain, and how certain drugs (that mimic noradrenaline) can protect the brain against degeneration seen in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease. Running experiments, teaching undergrads and carrying out scientific writing has been my 9-5 for the past 4 years, now let me help you!
For the past 3 years I have been employed by the TCD School of Medicine as a tutor to first year medical students. I have also supervised 7 undergraduate students in the lab as part of their final project. This involved teaching experimental technique, designing studies and assisting students with their project write up.

I take an exam-centered approach to teaching. In preparation for each tutorial I will get you to attempt an exam style question on your own. When we meet we will then go through the solution together before using what we learned to tackle similar questions. For online lessons we will go through the exams on a shared whiteboard which I will be able to share with you at the end of the tutorial. Students are also free to record their lessons for future reference/study. I also offer to assist with project work for LC chemistry (ACA).
