About Malika
I'm a PhD-qualified Biological Scientist working in the biotechnology industry, where I research gene editing therapeutics. My passion for biology began at school and has taken me through a BSc in Biomedical Science, an MSc, and ultimately a PhD specialising in molecular and cell biology.
I understand that biology can sometimes feel overwhelming, with complex terminology and processes that can be difficult to grasp. My goal is to make these topics simple, engaging, and relatable by breaking them down into clear explanations that help students truly understand the science rather than memorise facts.
Whether you're preparing for GCSE or A Level exams, studying for a university degree, or simply looking to improve your confidence in biology, I provide personalised lessons tailored to your learning style and goals. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching to ensure sessions are enjoyable, interactive, and focused on helping you achieve your full potential.
Alongside subject knowledge, I can also help develop essential academic skills including exam technique, scientific writing, data interpretation, revision strategies, and critical thinking. Having completed my own academic journey to PhD level and now working in biomedical research, I enjoy demonstrating how classroom concepts are applied in modern science.
Above all, I aim to create a friendly, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing students achieve the grades they are aiming for and develop a genuine interest in science.

I specialise in tutoring Biology at GCSE, A Level and undergraduate and postgraduate students, helping them build both confidence and a thorough understanding of complex biological concepts. Whether you're studying cell biology, genetics, molecular biology, physiology, immunology, biochemistry, cancer biology or experimental techniques, I tailor every lesson to your individual learning style and academic goals. I also provide support with university coursework, laboratory reports, dissertations, research projects, and exam preparation.
My teaching style focuses on simplifying difficult topics into clear, logical explanations while encouraging critical thinking rather than memorisation. Having published and presented scientific research, I can also help students develop scientific writing, data interpretation, experimental design, and critical analysis skills that are essential for achieving top grades.
Lessons are delivered online or in person in a friendly and supportive environment where students are encouraged to ask questions and work at their own pace. I offer 1-1 support with personalised revision plans, practice exam questions with detailed feedback, and guidance on assignments and coursework.
