About Vla

I am an experienced mathematics tutor with teaching experience at both high school and university level.

Having worked in a high school, I understand the curriculum, common student difficulties and the importance of building confidence step by step. I make mathematics clear, structured and approachable, adapting each lesson to the student’s level and goals.

I have a strong academic background in mathematics and experience teaching algebra, calculus, probability and statistics.

My goal is to help students improve their results, understand mathematics more clearly and become confident, independent problem solvers.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is focused on understanding, not memorisation. I explain mathematical concepts clearly and step by step, helping students build confidence and become more independent problem solvers.

I adapt each lesson to the student’s level, goals and learning style. When a topic is difficult, I break it into smaller, manageable steps, use clear examples and gradually build toward more challenging questions. I also identify where a student is getting stuck so we can focus on the areas that will make the biggest difference.

A typical lesson lasts around 60 minutes, with longer sessions available for exam preparation or more advanced university topics.

Students are given targeted homework between lessons to reinforce what we have covered. I monitor their progress, review common mistakes and adjust future lessons based on the areas that need more attention.

I have teaching experience at both high school and university level, so I understand the school curriculum as well as more advanced mathematics. My experience includes algebra, calculus, probability, statistics, optimisation and other university-level topics.

My standard rate is for a 60-minute online lesson.

Longer sessions can be arranged for exam preparation, advanced university topics or students who prefer more intensive support.

Homework, progress monitoring and lesson preparation are included in the rate. Lessons are tailored to each student’s level and goals, with no additional charge for materials or practice exercises.

Discounted rates may be available for students who book multiple lessons in advance.
