About David
I have seven years teaching experience helping students of all ages excel in the Humanities. I am completing a PhD in History and have also gained qualification for higher education teaching.
As a one-to-one tutor, my priority is to make lessons engaging and rewarding for students, with structured steps towards achieving their full academic potential. I have a first-class degree in History from the University of Oxford, which is where I began first tutoring IB students. Since moving to London, I have been a full-time private tutor and have gained a wide range of teaching experience with students here. This year, I will complete a PhD in History at Queen Mary, University of London.

Every student requires something different from tutoring, which is why I begin sessions by identifying what a student’s strengths and weaknesses are, and what academic goals they wish to achieve over a certain time period, so that I can structure a learning plan that suits my client’s needs best, and enables their academic success. Most importantly, I try to make learning as relevant and exciting as possible. In my experience, getting students excited and interested in their subject is the most effective step towards attaining the top grades at examination.
Highlights of my tutoring career so far have been helping students gain scholarships to top London day schools, working with A Level students to improve their grades and secure them top university places, and traveling to Nigeria to tutor with Pembroke tutors to help with 11+ UK school entry. With my extensive record of teaching experience, I am a reliable and hardworking tutor who takes pride in helping students reach their full potential.
