About Tracy
Hi, I'm Tracy, a native Chinese speaker with Level 2 Grade A Mandarin Proficiency Test Certificate (Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi) and almost 10 years of living experience in the UK. I hold a BA in English Language and Literature from the Minzu University of China, an MSc in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics, and a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Cambridge. During my academic studies, I supported undergraduate and postgraduate students (majors related to China Studies) with essay writing. After graduation, I have been devoting myself to education; I currently work as a Teaching Assistant in UK primary schools with an enhanced DBS check. I specialise in teaching Chinese to children aged 5-12, focusing on fun and interactive lessons so that children can build confidence in listening, speaking, and understanding Chinese culture.

With long-term academic training in social anthropology and life experience in UK and China, I broaden my cross-cultural observation in everyday life and understand the needs of students from different backgrounds.
My lessons are designed to be interactive, enjoyable, and confidence-building. I aim to help students learn Chinese through: (1) Pinyin and pronunciation; (2) vocabulary; (3) sentence structures; and (4) cultural elements. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable speaking and learning at their own pace.
Whether you/your children are complete beginners or have some background in Chinese, I'm happy to tailor lessons to suit their level and interests. Trial lessons are available. Feel free to get in touch.
