About Allan Hua Heng

I earned a first class honours degree and master’s degree (research) with scholarships (e.g., publication scholarship, research grant) and awards (e.g., dean’s list awards, commendation letters) from Curtin University, Sarawak Campus in Malaysia. From my honours and masters experience, I have polished my analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex information clearly in both oral and writing as evidenced by poster presentation in North Borneo Research Colloquium, Sarawak as well as peer-reviewed paper and presentation in International Conference on Control, Automation and Robotics, first runner-up presenter in HDR Three Minutes Thesis Competition, and under review papers on IEEE journal.
After acquiring my degree, I worked as a process (lean) engineer at an international aluminium manufacturing company in Guangzhou, China and a cultural exchange staff at a winter park in Colorado, USA. These experiences offered me the ability to speak and write different languages, to work collaboratively with a diversity of people, and the ability to use personal initiative and creativity to solve problems. Furthermore, my previous research experience from an Australian university campus provided me an exciting opportunity to learn academic and scientific writing in an international platform, offering the full potential for me to become an academic educator. I have more than two years in tutoring high school and university students. I taught Science, Physics and Mathematics, previously. I currently work as a PhD scholar, which needs multi-skills including educating, advocating, and translating.
Overall, my working and research experience gained as a final year research project student , experience as a postgraduate researcher, and from my publications, will allow me the ability to bring positive contribution to tutoring job with a positive attitude. I believe that choosing me will inspire your children to work towards enhancing educational goals and aspirations towards their education improvement.

About the lesson

I have good listening skills, and I believe to understand the emotions and problems the children face. Benefiting from this ability, I was able to connect with the student other people could not connect with. Students are rarely bored with me in the classroom, because I always make the lessons engaging, and interesting for them.
