About Amanda
Since I began tutoring student athletes at University of Central Florida in 2008 I have helped hundreds of students achieve high test scores and excellent understanding of technical concepts in science and math.
In grad school at University of Connecticut I was a teaching assistant leading discussion sections for Human Genetics courses and developed my own lab modules for teaching DNA sequencing strategies.
I have been tutoring Genetics, Biology, Chemistry, Math, and Test Prep for private companies since 2015 and have helped most students achieve their highest test grades and test scores in these subjects. In addition, I work as a research scientist to develop DNA sequencing protocols for personalized health.

I give lessons to science and math students from middle school through university level. I believe that application of concepts through examples and practice questions is the best way to achieve a solid grasp of complex topics. My teaching style is to deliver basic concepts at a level that is easy to understand and then to expand upon them to show students they are capable of solving difficult problems. I also believe that it is essential to learn the vocabulary of a subject you want to excel in, so I emphasize key words and what they mean.
