About Florian

Hi! I’m Florian, a PhD-trained Molecular & Cellular Biologist and bilingual French/English tutor based in Toronto (Ontario, Canada).

I have over 13 years of experience in academic and biomedical research, during which I have mentored and trained students, trainees and research personnel at different levels. I also have a Master’s in Endocrinology & Metabolism and undergraduate training specialized in teaching Life Sciences.

Throughout my career, I’ve learned that being a good teacher is not just about knowing the subject—it’s about knowing how to explain it. I’m patient, approachable and genuinely enjoy helping students gain confidence in their abilities.

Whether you find science fascinating or frustrating, you can expect a supportive, professional and judgment-free environment where your questions are welcome. My goal is to help you become a more confident and independent learner while making science easier to understand.

About the lesson

Science shouldn’t be about memorizing endless lists of facts. My goal is to help you understand how and why things work.

Lessons are personalized to your level, goals and learning needs. We’ll start by identifying what you already understand and where you’re having difficulties, then break complex concepts into manageable pieces using clear explanations, examples and practice questions.

I can help with high-school Biology and General Science, AP/IB Biology, and introductory to intermediate university Biology, including Genetics, Cell & Molecular Biology, Human Physiology, Endocrinology, Metabolism and Biochemistry.

Lessons can focus on understanding difficult concepts, catching up on coursework, preparing for exams, working through assignments, interpreting scientific data or developing better study and problem-solving strategies.

I teach in both French and English and adapt my explanations to the student rather than expecting the student to adapt to the teacher.

Whether you need help with one difficult topic or want ongoing support throughout a course, we’ll work together to find an approach that works for you.
