About Muhammad
I am a biology researcher at the University of Cambridge with a PhD and several years of experience in biomedical research, including immunology, infectious diseases and cancer biology. Throughout my academic and research journey, I have always enjoyed understanding how biological systems work and, perhaps even more importantly, sharing that understanding with others.
I want to teach because I believe biology is much more interesting when you understand the ideas behind it rather than simply memorising facts. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable ideas and helping students develop the confidence to ask questions and think scientifically.
Having worked in research, I can also offer something beyond the usual biology curriculum. I would love to introduce interested students to how real scientific research works, from developing a research question and hypothesis to analysing biological data and communicating findings. My aim is not only to help students achieve better results, but also to help them discover the curiosity and excitement that makes biology such a fascinating subject.

My lessons are tailored to each student’s level, goals and learning style. With a PhD and research experience in biology, immunology, infectious diseases and cancer research, I can help students understand difficult concepts rather than simply memorise them. I use clear explanations, diagrams, real-world examples and scientific thinking to make biology engaging and easier to understand.
Beyond exam preparation, I can also introduce students to how biological research is actually conducted — from choosing a research question and developing a hypothesis, through experimental design, analysing data and interpreting results, to writing a scientific paper. For interested students, I can even provide a mini research project using real biological, bioinformatics or omics datasets, giving them hands-on experience of working with research data. Whether you are studying GCSE, A-level or university biology, or simply want to explore biology beyond the curriculum, I can help you develop both knowledge and scientific thinking.
