About Meli
Hi! I’m Melissa Hidalgo Jimenez, a native Spanish speaker from Costa Rica and an experienced tutor passionate about language learning and cultural exchange. I’m fluent in Spanish, English, and Italian, and I love helping others improve their Spanish skills in a fun and personalized way. I have experience tutoring high school students in Spanish and working as a bilingual tutor to help students strengthen their biliteracy in Spanish and English. I also worked as a Special Education Assistant, supporting students with individualized learning needs. My passion for education extends beyond tutoring—I’ve led cultural events, taught creative workshops to female survivors in Costa Rica, and worked with organizations supporting immigrant women. Now, I’m a first-year student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, double majoring in International Studies and Italian. I’m actively involved with the Roberto Hernandez Center and committed to empowering Latino/a communities. I love creating engaging lessons tailored to each student’s learning style and goals. Whether you want to improve your speaking, grammar, or writing, I’ll help you gain confidence and fluency in Spanish!
