About Emily
I’m a primary teacher with experience teaching in both England and Ireland, and I currently work in a special school. I hold a degree in Childhood Studies and a PGCE in Primary Teaching. My experience has given me a strong understanding of the importance of adapting learning to each student’s individual strengths, needs and interests.
I’m passionate about helping children and young people develop confidence, independence and a genuine enjoyment of learning. I particularly enjoy hands-on and student-led approaches, using a range of strategies to make learning accessible, engaging and meaningful.
I can support students with curriculum subjects and homework, as well as areas such as accessing the curriculum, social and emotional learning, life skills, and gross and fine motor development. I take a flexible, student-centred approach and aim to create a supportive environment where each student can feel comfortable, capable and successful.

My lessons are relaxed, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs, strengths and interests. I believe that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning, so I use a range of practical, hands-on and student-centred strategies to help make learning accessible and enjoyable.
Depending on the student’s needs and goals, sessions can focus on homework and curriculum support, developing independence and life skills, accessing learning in a way that works for them, or building social, emotional and motor skills. I’m happy to adapt each lesson and follow the student’s interests, using their strengths to support areas where they may need additional help.
Most importantly, I want students to feel comfortable, capable and proud of their progress. My aim is to build confidence and independence while helping each student make meaningful progress towards their individual goals.
