About Rachel
I am in my final semester in Social Sciences at Vanier! My focus is in Sociology and I am currently working as a research assistant for the participatory-action research project "Being Muslim in Cegep." I have taken Intro to Sociology, Sociology of Sexuality, and Sociology of Mass Media; this semester I will be doing my independent project in Sociology as well as taking the fourth-level class Current Issues in Sociology. Last year I audited an english peer-teaching class and tutored an hour a week for that semester. I have volunteer experience with social projects such as the burrito project and prisoner's correspondence project.

I will use case studies to illustrate sociological concepts and show why they are important to understand. I'll help the Tutee expand concepts into large and complex ideas, and I will also help them condense these ideas into a couple digestible sentences. I can also help with Essay writing, teaching how to narrow down a topic, find relevant academic articles, and synthesize the information into a coherent essay with a good style of writing.
