About Amy
I am an A level graduate who studied Music, Drama and Theatre Studies and French. I absolutely loved english at GCSE and excelled in it, getting A and A* equivalents. Furthermore, my Drama essays have consistently received A* grades at A Level standards. I have tutored french and English for two years and helped my younger sister pass her exams.

As i have mentioned before, I teach GCSE students with comprehensive yet effective methods of learning. I have the most experience with AQA but would be willing to teach other exam boards if I am asked but only when I feel confident I could teach it well. I consider myself to be kind and patient, catering to each individual student, based on how they learn best. I don't believe in putting huge amounts of pressure on students as i know it can be harmful to their learning and mental health, though I ask that students understand that the amount of work they put in will have an effect on the grade they will receive.
My lessons typically start with either a full practice essay question or a practice essay paragraph to ensure regular exposure to exam content with a quick run down of how they would be marked, based on the exam board mark scheme. We will, depending on which english exam the student is learning, unpack either one of the set texts, chapter by chapter, theme by theme, with relevant quotes and context or we will look at each language question in depth with practice content and useful memory techniques for remembering what needs to be included in the students answers to secure a high grade.
My CV is attached to give you an idea of what sort of person I am rather than the experience i have in tutoring. It does detail my grades at GCSE and I am currently waiting on my A level results.
