About Jade
I grew up in China and completed my undergraduate degree in Journalism before moving to the UK to study for a Master's degree in Filmmaking. I am now a freelance filmmaker and photographer based in London.
I have always been interested in art, storytelling and creative work, and I love crafting, making things and communicating with people from different backgrounds. I enjoy creating a friendly and relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and expressing themselves.
As someone who grew up speaking Mandarin and has lived and studied in both China and the UK, I can also share not only the language, but the culture and everyday experiences behind it.

I teach Mandarin through a mix of language practice, games and creative activities. Depending on the student's level, we can work on pinyin, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar, while also practising how to use Chinese naturally in everyday situations.
I like to make lessons interactive rather than simply following a textbook. We can use games, role-play and creative activities to practise new words and sentences, and explore Chinese culture, food, traditions and everyday life along the way.
For students who are comfortable with it, I also like to introduce more Chinese into the lesson and gradually create a Chinese-speaking environment. Lessons are usually 60 minutes, but I can adapt the pace and activities to suit the student's age, level and interests.
My lessons are suitable for beginners, conversational learners and anyone who wants to develop their Chinese while getting to know more about Chinese culture.
