About Victoria
Step into a journey of mathematical discovery and empowerment! With over 15 years of experience as an upper elementary math teacher and Math/Science Instructional Specialist, I bring a wealth of expertise to our sessions.
As a curriculum developer for elementary grade levels and a provider of support and training to teachers, I have honed my skills in creating dynamic learning experiences. My academic background includes a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction - Mathematics, coupled with three Texas teaching certifications: Generalist EC-6, Generalist 4-8, and Special Education EC-12.
My approach to tutoring is rooted in collaboration, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to student success. I specialize in integrating technology and real-world applications into the math curriculum, crafting engaging lesson plans that foster deep understanding and enthusiasm for mathematics.

As a tutor in elementary mathematics education, my approach revolves around three key principles: differentiation, targeted instruction, and fostering a supportive learning environment.
Firstly, I tailor my teaching methods to suit each student's unique learning style and pace. This means I adapt my approach based on their strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. For instance, if a student learns best through hands-on activities, I incorporate manipulatives and interactive games into our lessons. If they are more visual learners, I use diagrams and visual aids to illustrate concepts.
Secondly, I believe in targeted instruction that addresses specific areas of difficulty or challenge for each student. Through ongoing assessment and feedback, I identify areas where the student needs extra support and focus our lessons on those topics. This ensures that our time together is spent efficiently and effectively, maximizing the student's learning outcomes.
Lastly, I prioritize creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and taking risks. I strive to build rapport with my students, fostering a sense of trust and collaboration that empowers them to engage actively in their learning journey.
