About James
I am a passionate and supportive History and Politics tutor with four years of experience teaching, lecturing and tutoring students online. I hold a BA in History and an MA in Military History, and I have worked with students from age 11 upwards, including GCSE, A Level and university learners.
My aim is always to build confidence, improve understanding and help students achieve their full potential. I adapt my lessons to suit each student’s needs, whether they require support with subject knowledge, essay writing, exam technique, source analysis or revision skills.
I have a strong record of helping students achieve high grades, and I take pride in creating lessons that are clear, engaging and focused on progress. I am professional, reliable and committed to giving every student the support they need to succeed.

My approach to tutoring is flexible and student-focused. I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s needs, confidence level and goals, whether they need help understanding content, improving essay technique, preparing for exams or building confidence in History and Politics.
My lessons are normally 60 minutes long, although this can be adapted depending on the student. I aim to make lessons supportive, engaging and clear, while also helping students develop the skills they need to achieve higher grades.
I have been teaching, lecturing and tutoring for four years, working with a wide range of students. I have experience as both a lecturer and teacher, as well as extensive one-to-one tutoring experience.
My lessons are suitable for students aged 11 and upwards, including GCSE, A Level and university students, as well as anyone who needs extra help and support with learning History or Politics.
