About Isabella
Hi! I am currently a Biology and Chemistry student at the University of St. Andrews, and have tutored back in my home country, Switzerland, all throughout high school. I am American Peruvian, and speak English and French fluently. I tutored students aged 12-16, offering help in a variety of subjects, including Biology, Chemistry, History and English, following the GCSE and IB syllabi. I have taken both the GCSEs and the IB and know from first-hand experience how important a good tutor can be in helping one grasp the key points and thereafter testing these through questions. My lessons are structured around the student having looked beforehand at the learning material and highlighting the areas which they believe they need the most help. We then hone in on strengthening their understandings, and test this by working through a few past paper questions, applying this newly acquired knowledge.

I’ve known Isa for over 4 years now and in that time, I have not once seen her lose her temper with anyone. She is a kind, patient and extremely passionate person and holds everything she does very strongly at heart. For history in particular, anytime I needed help, I knew I could count on her knowledge which she got from making extremely thorough and organised notes in and out of the classroom. More than that, she could make it sound so clear because she knew the topics well and was able to tell it in different ways to adapt to different situations. She was a tutor in high school for two years and it is no wonder. She is inspiring and has a strong need to help others and does it with extreme ease. She would make a wonderful tutor once again!
