About Lucy
I absolutely adore tutoring, I take great pride and pleasure in being able to help students understanding and successfully completing tasks and achieving great exam results. This love of tutoring has led to me pursuing a career within teaching which I hope to do so in the near future. I have tutored over 10 students for varying lengths of time and all have achieved what they deserved with a little help and guidance in the right direction. I believe tutoring lessons should be fun and something to look forward to, which I believe my friendly and caring attitude helps to contribute to. I have three years of tutoring experience, having taught GCSE Sciences, Geography and English to clients both face to face and online.
Having sometimes struggled to understand concepts that I was taught during school, I fully appreciate how helpful tutoring is, enabling students to experience one-to-one lessons, allowing them to express mis-understandings or go over topics that their teachers may have skimmed over in class. During my tutoring sessions I hope to encourage students to learn and become interested in the topic in hand by using diagrams, rhymes and poems and quick pop quizzes to help students to remember and easily recall the information that they have not only learnt, but understood. I like to have lessons that are well structured, with the aims and objectives clearly set out and met. I believe that everyone has a different learning style and I chose to analyse this and incorporate it into the way I teach each class differently for each student. I am more than happy to answer any queries or questions so please feel free to ask!
