About Abby

- Along with traditional GCSE & A-Level tutoring, I offer Oxbridge interview practice and guidance on personal statement writing, coursework, and admission tests such as the ELAT (Oxford's English Literature admissions test). Hello! I'm a student currently immersed in the world of English literature and language at Oxford University. My passion for language and teaching took me beyond the classroom as I embarked on a transformative journey teaching English abroad in Thailand. However, discovering my love for teaching wasn't just a classroom revelation; it started at home by guiding my younger siblings through the intricacies of language and literature. Beyond the academic sphere, I find solace in the pages of a good book and the notes of my favourite music. As I navigate the realities of English studies at Oxford, I'm excited to share my knowledge, enthusiasm, and love for the subject with others.

About the lesson

In my role as an English tutor, the success of guiding my students through the 11+ exams highlighted the importance of tailoring lessons to individual needs. This hands-on experience strengthened my ability to personalise teaching methods, making learning not just effective but enjoyable for each student. Teaching English in Thailand for over 2 months was a transformative chapter in my life. Immersed in a vibrant cultural landscape, I developed adaptability and cross-cultural communication skills. This experience expanded my teaching toolbox, allowing me to incorporate diverse perspectives into our lessons. Whether we're dissecting literature or navigating the intricacies of grammar, I believe in making the learning process relatable and enjoyable. My goal is not just to impart knowledge but to hopefully foster a lifelong love for the English language!
