About Rebecca
I am a current student at the University of Oxford studying an Msc in biology. I have a deep passion for science, and would love to help bring or enhance this same excitement in my students.
I have experience tutoring other students in maths, physics and Spanish, giving me a good grounding in the principles of how to teach others whilst helping me to find my own teaching style. This summer, I worked with an A-level student who was close to dropping maths, and I helped him to learn to love his subject and move up to the top set.
As an Oxford student, I understand the busy schedule you or your child will be balancing and will make sure that our sessions are their most productive, engaging and enjoyable.

My lessons are focussed on the student’s individual needs, and after assessing the students level of knowledge I will create a tailored plan to help them reach their goals.
My teaching style will revolve around guiding the student to get to the correct answer themselves, rather than just telling them, as well as teaching the reasoning behind what they learn. In my experience, this cements knowledge much more strongly in a student's brain and makes the subject more interesting as they can see the wider applications of what they learn. This, in turn, results in better work ethic, enjoyment and overall better grades.

I would absolutely recommend Rebecca to anyone seeking a tutor! Not only will she improve your child’s grades, she will make them feel confident. Rebecca tutored my son last summer in both A level maths and physics as he was really struggling with the jump from GCSE to A level. Rebecca patiently helped him to bridge the gaps in his knowledge and improve his grades, and he is now thriving.
Rebecca is an excellent tutor. My daughter feels a lot more confident in biology and her teachers even noted a remarkable improvement. She said Becky helps her breakdown complex topics and explains them in a way that makes them "make sense". Highly recommend!
