About May Line

Hi!

My name is May Line, and I am a 26-year-old student with extensive expertise in English (writing and speaking, research, and analysis) who is eager to help you! I have attended English-speaking school since High School, and have completed university in the UK. Academically, I have a specific background in Law and International Relations.

About the lesson

I can offer help with English (speech, writing, grammar), academic research and writing for the high school/university level, and preparations for applying to top-level universities. I am open to adapting my teaching based on specific needs and wishes.

Teaching time is preferred on an hourly basis but can be discussed. Feedback on written texts (e.g., essays, assignments, etc.) can also be offered, with price according to the length of the text.

I am available as a private tutor both digitally and physically in the Oslo area. Physical teaching is possible until August 2023, as I am commencing an LLM at Harvard University (USA). After this time, I can only teach digitally (with limited hours).

Academic background:
From High School, I have experience with the IB program, where I scored 39/45. I received a 7 in 'English A: Language and Literature (higher level) ', an A in' Extended Essay ', and an A in' Theory of Knowledge '. I am well acquainted with the grading rubric and am confident in providing academic guidance and constructive feedback accordingly.

I completed my undergraduate degree in International Relations at King's College London with 1st Class Honors. My undergraduate dissertation was passed with Distinction.

I converted my undergraduate degree into a UK law degree (Postgraduate Diploma in Law), by completing seven compulsory law subjects. I achieved a Distinction grade.

I am completing the last year of my MPhil at the University of Oxford, with a predicted Distinction.

I will commence an LL.M. (Master of Laws) at Harvard University in August 2023.

I have significant background in academic writing on a general and specialized basis and can provide guidance with writing and analysis within social sciences/law. I am also confident that I can help students with their applications to foreign, top-rated universities, having now had experience with both the UK and US systems.
