I completed my PGCE after four years working as a journalist and editor, writing for national publications. My journalism primarily covered current affairs, global politics and culture. As such, I can also offer coaching on journalistic and other forms of writing.
After qualifying as a teacher, I was quickly promoted to have responsibility over A Level English Literature in an exceptional department (top 1% nationally). I was also responsible for mock Oxbridge interviews, including setting materials for interview practice, carrying out interviews, giving feedback and personal statement support.
My teaching has been described as 'Outstanding' in feedback from an Ofsted inspector and I have received a Teach Wimbledon award for Outstanding Classroom Practice. In addition, I have extensive experience marking exams at GCSE and A Level for major exam boards.

I offer both face-to-face and online tuition. Prior to our first lesson, I ask for a sample of the student's recent work in order to identify their individual strengths and areas to work on. In conversation with the student and their parents, I build a tailored programme of lessons that build confidence and independence, enabling students to achieve their goals at any level. As an experienced teacher, my lessons follow a clear structure of explanation, modelling and practice with frequent opportunities for precise feedback.
