About Barbara

I am an experienced tutor with over a dozen years of tutoring experience, six years included ACT and SAT tutoring in person and online, as well as teaching ACT and SAT group classes.
My students find my approach refreshing, engaging, and they see their missed answers decreasing with every practice test and tutoring session we have.

About the lesson

I really get these tests. I've been working with these tests and students for years. I've seen the changes to the tests over time, and can point these new items out to students as we work. I give strategies and work through a complete test with each student, then we move on to going over the homework tests I give them to complete each week. Practice makes perfect, or at least a higher score and my students are proof of this.

Barbara helped my son with math and assignment organization periodically from 3rd grade through trigonometry and the ACT test prep. Now he is successfully away at University!

We particularly appreciate how she helped with my son's math and test-taking anxiety. She taught him to carefully read word problems and apply repeatable strategies to get the right answers. She has a calming, encouraging and practical approach that helped build confidence.

Barbara has been part of our lives for years, and I trust her deeply. She’s given her all to my son, learning how he learns best. He trusts her to support him and understand him, and she doesn’t disappoint.

Barbara is one of the most honest and straightforward people I know, and she continually seeks out knowledge and adjusts her teaching to meet the needs of the child in front of her. She has our family’s utmost trust and respect, and can recommend her without reservation.
