About Alya
I’m an Oxford School of Drama–trained actor with a strong academic background in English and History. I want to teach because I know first-hand how much of a difference a good teacher can make to a student’s progress and confidence, and I aim to provide that same level of support.
Alongside my academic experience, I have extensive practical experience in acting across stage and screen, and understand the demands of auditions and self-tapes. I know how challenging it can be when opportunities come in last minute, and I can offer reliable, focused support, including reading opposite students and helping them prepare under pressure.

My lessons are practical, focused and tailored to each student’s immediate needs. For academic work, I help students break down essays clearly, structure arguments and improve analysis so they can approach exams with confidence. Sessions are interactive and designed to build understanding step by step.
For acting, lessons are hands-on and based around performance. I work directly on audition pieces, give clear adjustments in real time, and help students respond to direction as they would in a real audition room. I can also support self-tapes and read opposite students.
I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, while always leaving with clear, actionable feedback on how to improve.

Perfect! Absolutely loved the lesson we went over my audition speeches and she helped me discover new things about them and brought them back to life. Alya also did drama exercises to get the lesson started and working throughout the lesson. Also Alya was kind and patient and made me feel comfortable in the lesson. Highly recommend

I met Alya on an acting foundation course at The Oxford School of Drama. She continued to impress me with her commitment, determination and precise work in classes. She’s excellent across the board. Her performances both in screen and stage acting were always incredible!! We worked together many a time from class exercises to performances on screen and stage. It was always a joy to perform opposite her. She’s an incredibly generous actor and shines across all disciplines.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with Alya through acting tutoring, and from the start she created a really safe, encouraging space to explore and grow. Building confidence in acting can be challenging, but she makes it feel natural and enjoyable.
What I appreciate most about her teaching methods is how practical and engaging they are. She doesn’t just explain techniques—she helps you experience them. Whether it’s working on emotion, character development, or script analysis, she breaks everything down in a way that’s easy to understand and apply. She’s also very attentive and gives specific, constructive feedback that genuinely helps you improve.

I studied alongside Alya at Oxford School of Drama and she is an incredibly talented performer with an infectious energy. She is hardworking and easy to get along with. Watching her on stage and screen never fails to impress me. Alya has been my neighbour for over two years and has been providing excellent care to my 8-year-old Labrador. My dog now wags her tail when she hears Alya’s name being mentioned.
