About Lubna

I am an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching children from Kindergarten to Grade 6. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students with a wide range of strengths, learning styles, abilities, and academic needs.

I am passionate about helping children become confident and successful learners. I understand that reading and writing can sometimes feel challenging or frustrating for students, so I strive to create a patient, encouraging, and positive environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing their skills at their own pace.

My classroom experience has given me a strong understanding of the Ontario curriculum, grade-level expectations, assessment practices, and the literacy skills students need as they progress through elementary school. I use this experience to identify areas where students may need additional support and provide instruction that is appropriate for their individual needs.

I take pride in building positive relationships with my students and celebrating their progress along the way. My goal is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them develop greater confidence, independence, and a positive attitude toward learning.

About the lesson

Every child develops their literacy skills at a different pace, so I tailor each lesson to the individual student's strengths, areas of need, learning style, and grade level. My goal is to help students strengthen their English skills while building confidence and developing a positive attitude toward reading and writing.

I support students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in areas such as reading fluency and comprehension, phonics and foundational reading skills, vocabulary, grammar, spelling, sentence structure, paragraph writing, and written communication.

I begin by getting to know the student and identifying the specific skills that would benefit from additional support. Lessons are then personalized and may include direct instruction, guided reading and writing practice, educational games, hands-on activities, and targeted skill-building exercises. I adjust my teaching strategies and the level of challenge as the student progresses.

As an Ontario Certified Teacher with over 10 years of elementary teaching experience, I have a strong understanding of the Ontario curriculum and grade-level expectations. This allows me to provide support that complements what students are learning at school while also addressing individual gaps or areas for growth.

All learning materials are provided and are carefully selected or prepared based on the student's individual needs and learning goals. Whether your child needs help catching up, strengthening foundational literacy skills, improving reading comprehension and writing, or extending their learning, I will meet them where they are and help them progress with confidence.

Details

My hourly rate includes personalized lesson preparation and all learning materials needed for each session. Activities and resources are selected or prepared based on each student's individual learning needs, goals, and grade level.

In-home tutoring is available with an additional $10 travel fee. There are no additional fees for learning materials or resources.
