About Sophia
I am a violinist with a degree from the Leipzig music conservatory "Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy". I have been playing for 19 years and started teaching during my studies at my conservatory. Being German/American, both German and English are my mother tongues, so lessons can be held in either of these languages.

I am very open minded when it comes to the selection of pieces for my students. I try to use many genres (eg. film music) which will awaken and maintain interest.
Additionally, I split the lesson into 3 parts: Technical Exercises (Scales, Specific left and right hand exercises), Etudes (a piece that playfully focuses on a difficulty/skill that the student can improve on) and the piece(s) that the student is working on.
At the end of the lesson the student and I create a practice plan until next week’s lesson according to the student’s time, motivation and goals.
