About Martha

o 7 years of 1-1 Tutoring experience & love of working with students and tailoring lessons o 13 years studying and speaking Spanish as a second language myself, giving me empathy and skills to help you learn Spanish as a second language o Vast SEND Tutoring experience and training: ADHD, autism, rejection sensitivity, PDA, speech & language needs, Louis-Bar syndrome, global developmental delay o University Spanish Modules (As), A-level Spanish (A), GCSE Spanish (A) o 1:1 Degree in Theatre Arts o Experience working with young people and adults in Spanish from Spain and across Latin America o CELTA - Cambridge English Language Teaching Award - Grade A o Teacher, Tutor & Youth Worker by profession I am a listening, energised & empathetic tutor who creates tailored and engaging classes for my students to support their confidence, self-expression and improve their grades. I am highly experienced when it comes to supporting students’ learning and preparing students for their exams. I am a graduate of Mount Holyoke College in the USA where I was a scholarship student studying Spanish, English, Theatre Studies and more. I’m now a fluent speaker of Spanish after 13 years and my degree is in Theatre Arts. I have been studying and speaking Spanish since 2012. I achieved an A* at GCSE, an A at A-level and As in all of my Spanish modules at university. I now work in classroom settings and 1-1 with students whose L1 is Spanish from Spain, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Argentina and across Latin America. I have travelled through Spain, Puerto Rico and Mexico. I have experience tutoring in Spanish since 2016 and 7 years of 1-1 tutoring experience. Furthermore, I have experience working as a Youth Worker (3.5 years), SEND Teaching Assistant & Tutor (4.5 years) and ESL / ESOL Teacher, (4 years.) I have experience boosting the grades of students of all different levels and specialist training and vast experience working with students with SEND: ADHD, autism, speech & language needs, selective muteness, global development delay and Louis-Bar syndrome. As well as teaching, I love Argentine Tango dancer, Theatre, Literature & Psychology.
