About Frank

Welcome, I feel strongly that every learner is unique and deserves to be gently challenged academically, and by someone who has known personal learning difficulties in his youth. I struggled to escape from being a child with learning difficulties to a graduate with over 21 qualifications in the English language, Irish Gaelic, Teaching and Counselling. So, I have a great insight into the obstacles to learning and how best to overcome one's own deficiencies. I offer you understanding, empathy and patience at all times in the planned sessions.

I would describe myself as a kind, passionate and highly professional tutor, who loves to communicate his own personal grasp of the English language with humour, enthusiasm, and positive regard towards all of my students. You may be interested to know that I have written four books including two joke books. So, yes I do have a great sense of humour that is essential for your learning. I am a happy, lively and charismatic mature man, and you will find me easy to relate to, because if you are not at ease - you won't learn.

In my leisure time, I love to create my own home grown jokes, and when I'm not writing jokes, I am strumming some tunes on my beloved guitar. You also may like to know that I once explored the jungles of the Philippines, whilst fighting off cobras, scorpions and the deadly Malaria-infecting mosquitos! The most important thing I learnt from the Filipinos was trust, sharing and giving. Many of the young people in the Philippines have no material wealth but they are rich in community spirit, goodwill, and in endurance.

No student is a failure, only a learner from life's myriad of difficulties and obstacles. I never give up hope on any learner. You will be empowered to achieve all that you are capable and willing to attain. That is my guarantee to all of you. About the lesson

A Genius EFL and specialist Eleven Plus English Tutor.
It's all about you! I offer you EFL/ESL and English Eleven Plus tutoring to young people. The lessons are 50-60 minutes in duration.

I have taught and tutored hundreds of young people brilliantly at schools, at home and online over a period of some 30 years. I will draw on my experience in the academic and teaching world to provide exciting, yet well-structured lessons to enlighten and generate a greater in-depth knowledge of communication in English.

The structure of the lessons is straightforward and engaging. Firstly, I will review the main concepts and themes that were taught in the previous session and discuss any difficulties with online study and homework, undertaken by the student. Secondly, I will present the new materials and set the goals that need to be achieved. Thirdly, I will convey the key points and encourage the student to converse with me. The student will be presented with new vocabulary, grammar and talking points. Next, the student will be asked questions to help cement the fresh knowledge firmly in his mind. I will endeavour to answer any queries promptly concerning the new language to be learnt. Any corrections of speech, phonetics or use of syntax will be conveyed to the student. Finally, the lesson will be completed by a short review of the content taught, a question and answer session, a reminder of the salient issues, and any homework will be set and fully explained to the student.

My teaching style is an existential one that will foster a good rapport and an inclusive relationship with all students. I will endeavour to keep the lessons jargon-free and simplify the English language' grammatical use.
