About Rebecca

My name is Becca and I am currently a second year Cardiff University Law student. I achieved an A in Edexcel A-Level History, and a 9 in Edexcel GCSE History.

I love history, and I especially loved studying history in an engaging and memorable manner, using videos and mind-maps and formulaic sheets to maximise my essay formats.

In my spare time I write historical fiction to help people connect with the past in a more humanised and understandable way! Through my university work, I work with legal aid charities for people without access to legal advice, and write columns for my universities magazine.

About the lesson

I specialise in the GCSE Edexcel History curriculum.

I tailor my lesson plans with my students and their parents, setting goals and benchmarks for personal progression in regard to mock and GCSE exams; whilst also considering the students learning style and revision plans.

I can assist in any area of learning, whether it be the specific formula for the best essay questions, learning the prescribed material in an engaging manner; and learning additional content to best get the extra marks on tricky questions.

As a person with learning difficulties in higher education, my personal experience and exam results lends well to teaching those with similar difficulties, such as giving advice on effective study skills and time management, and how I teach and plan my lessons through being adapted to my students' needs.

Details

I offer a free 60 minute session to get to know the student and meet their parents/guardians and better understand their goals and their learning style and their benchmarks for their learning goals.

I also find it a good opportunity to organise the timings of regular weekly sessions to maintain consistency and reliability for both the student and their parents/guardians and myself.

All of my lessons are online, so there are no extra hidden fees for travel and giving in-person lessons.
