About Iris
Hi! I’m a recent Bachelor of Science graduate from the University of Melbourne, majoring in Neuroscience. I have a strong academic background in Biology and the sciences, and I’m passionate about helping students build both their understanding and confidence in these subjects.
During secondary school, I achieved 10As (8 of which are A*s) for my IGCSE results. Having studied through the IGCSE curriculum myself, I understand the challenges students may face and aim to make lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus on creating a comfortable learning environment where students can ask questions.
Whether you are looking to strengthen your foundations, prepare for exams or simply feel more confident in Science or Biology, I would love to help you achieve your goals!

My lessons are available for secondary school students aged 12–16 who are currently enrolled in the IGCSE curriculum. I teach Science for Years 7–9 and Biology for Years 10–11.
Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual strengths, areas for improvement and learning needs. I incorporate a variety of learning approaches, including visual, written and verbal methods, to help students understand and retain new concepts.
Lessons typically range from 1–2 hours, depending on the student’s needs and prior arrangement.
Lesson Format:
• Learning goals – Establish clear learning objectives at the beginning of each lesson, which are reviewed at the end to reinforce progress and understanding.
• Revision & memory recall – Review key concepts from previous lessons where applicable, using recall-based activities to strengthen retention.
• Content teaching & active recall – Introduce and explain new content while incorporating active recall techniques to encourage students to engage with and apply what they have learned.
• Practice & consolidation – Work through past-year exam questions and activities to identify areas that require further clarification and reinforce understanding.
