About Steven
As a prospective teacher, my goal is to help students build confidence in their subject of choice; and not only to remember, but understand material that they are able to use and apply in their own lives every day! I want to be the type of teacher that is present for their students both inside, and outside of the classroom, and also one that gives students the tools necessary to excel in school, and their future. As an Honours BA graduate and soon-to-be BEd Student, I hope to be the type of teacher that inspires students to do great things, pushes them to work hard, and provides a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.

My lessons will usually involve many authentic and hands-on materials that engage students in meaningful learning experiences. I usually provide my own materials, such as: a whiteboard, markers, paper, pencils, binders, and even stickers! Typical lessons involve 1-1.5 hours of instruction, activities, and inquiry upon subject that student requires assistance with. I shall act as a facilitator that encourages self-assessment, work ethic, and critical thinking - and push students to achieve their upmost potential. I am capable of tutoring students in Mathematics up to grade 10, and English up to grade 12 (with the addition of social sciences and Secondary-school level Canadian Law.
