About Cleo
I have recently graduated from a top university with a First Class degree in BA (Hons) Liberal Arts (Spanish) with Employment Experience Abroad with Proficiency in Advanced French. Part of my employment experience involved teaching English in Colombia and I have also completed a 120-hour TEFL qualification. I am passionate about teaching as a way of using my privilege as a native English speaker to help others have the same access to the world that I do, and have strong command of what has become a universal language. I love connecting with people from other countries to expand my own view of the world, and am always open to learning what I can from students. Languages and cultural exchange are essential to maintaining human connection and empathy, especially in times like these. You can rely on me to prioritise your language development and progress in your preferred topics of study!

I have experience teaching people between the ages of 4 and 60, of all levels from early beginner to near-fluent. My techniques depend on the needs of the student, however most reading lessons would be structured with a starter exercise to introduce a topic or recap a previous lesson, followed by a multiple choice activity and finishing with a writing or translation exercise, difficulty depending on the student’s level. Contents of the lesson are determined by the skill they wish to work on (i.e. speaking classes would be tailored accordingly). If the student would like, I can provide homework activities for extra practice. Typical lesson time of 45-60 minutes.
