About Carmen

I am a PhD student at the university of Edinburgh in the school of Physics and Astronomy. Previously I have obtained a degree in Chemistry, having studied at University Complutense of Madrid and Durham University.
I am a native Spanish speaker, having lived and studied in Spain for the majority of my life.

About the lesson

My teaching method is tailored, as generally people show different levels in speaking, reading, listening and grammar. Overall comprehension will always be the main goal and added to this more emphasis can be done in some of the categories depending on the individual.

Samuel

Has been a resident of Spain for most of her life, but uprooted and mastered English in less than a year, so an expert in what it takes to master a language in a short space of time. Has a patient and understanding manner, making her perfect for a role in teaching.

With a family background all in academia, she has everything it takes to be a successful tutor.

Furthermore, she has completed a complex degree in a foreign language, including a 100+ page long masters project report, evidence of her strong grasp of English - useful so that she is able to easily translate between English and Spanish with ease - even within the scientific community.

Finally, a kind and upbeat person, it will be easy to remain engaged with her teaching and join her passion for learning the Spanish language.
