About Mary Catherine
Hello! My name is Cate and I'm currently in the final year of my doctorate in occupational therapy. My most recent interning experience is working full-time in a pediatric clinic under two very experienced occupational therapists as part of my coursework. As I finished up this experience and am completing the final part of my schooling working with adults, I realized I would miss teaching kids skills for success in both school and home, so I am pursuing opportunities to tutor part-time!
I earned a BBA in Marketing and took a variety of advanced science classes as well in preparation for my career in healthcare. Some classes I have taken are intro to finance, intro to accounting, several basic and advanced marketing classes, calculus I and II, macro and microeconomics, biology I and II, chemistry I and II, genetics, abnormal/developmental psychology.
I am most open to providing tutoring services for K-8, a variety of high school classes, test prep, anatomy & physiology. I am very passionate about finding adaptive strategies for both kids and adults with autism, ADHD, and special needs, and I recognize the importance of not only providing many strategies to my clients, but their caregivers/parents.
Some other things I like to do for fun that I am relatively knowledgeable about and can be open to teaching: piano, photography, and graphic design.

When I work with children who need extra support in their academics, I always try to make it fun, playful, and catered to their specific learning style. I want to know whether your child learns best through an auditory, kinesthetic, visual, or combined learning style--then I can incorporate this information into my teaching methods.
I am mainly looking to take on K-8 students, but can speak to high schoolers who need extra support as well!
