About Sashank
I am Sashank, a passionate educator and a Master's graduate in Computer Science from NYU, with a rich background in software engineering. Having worked with leading tech companies such as Walmart and JP Morgan Chase, I have managed significant projects, from microservices to data migration, using advanced technologies. This experience has not only honed my technical skills but also equipped me with the ability to break down complex concepts into understandable segments, making learning accessible and engaging.
My journey in tech began out of a deep curiosity for how things work and a desire to make a tangible impact through technology. This path led me to not only achieve academic and professional milestones but also to give back to the community by teaching underprivileged students math, calculus, and programming. Through these efforts, I've realized the transformative power of education and am committed to sharing my knowledge and experiences to inspire and uplift others.
I believe in a holistic approach to learning, where perseverance, critical thinking, and creativity are as important as technical skills. My teaching philosophy is centered around patience, encouragement, and fostering a positive, stimulating learning environment. I aim to empower my students by providing them with the tools and confidence to succeed in their academic and professional endeavors.

Drawing from my background in computer science and software engineering, with practical experience at leading firms like Walmart and JP Morgan Chase, I bring a unique, hands-on approach to tutoring. My lessons are designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application, ensuring that students not only understand mathematical concepts and programming languages but also know how to apply them effectively in solving practical problems.
I tailor my teaching methods to each student's learning style, using a mix of direct instruction, practical exercises, and real-world project simulations to reinforce learning. A typical lesson plan might start with a brief review of the last session's concepts, followed by an introduction to new material, hands-on coding or problem-solving exercises, and ending with a Q&A session to address any uncertainties.
What sets me apart as a tutor is my emphasis on critical thinking and problem-solving skills, cultivated through my professional experience and my academic journey at NYU. I strive to make each lesson not just informative but also engaging and inspiring, encouraging students to explore the limitless possibilities in the fields of math, calculus, and programming.
My lessons are especially suited for students who aspire to excel in STEM fields, offering them a gateway to understanding complex subjects through the lens of real-world applications. By sharing my knowledge and experiences, I aim to not only educate but also empower and motivate students to pursue their dreams in technology and engineering.
