About Frans
My name is Frans Venter. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Music (BMus), as well as a Master's degree in Music (Master of Arts in Musicology). I believe in professionalism, although without being overly formal or strict. The biggest problem I have always had with standard music teaching practices is being overly strict, as well as over-stressing time-based goals. While I understand the reasoning behind these aspects, I feel that these types of teaching styles can be detrimental to a student's passion for music. I also feel that a personalized methodology is more important. I therefore cater to the individual needs of every student, and will never make them feel uncomfortable in any way. I will only be strict in an encouraging way, and only if that is what the student prefers. Once again, it is all about the way in which the student wants to be taught in order to enhance their passion for music.

I follow a personalized methodology, meaning that I will adapt my teaching style to your individual needs. My general teaching style is also relaxed, meaning that we can progress at a pace with which you feel comfortable (I will not overload you with homework or over-stress time-based goals during lessons).
I am proficient in both English and Afrikaans, so our lessons can be in either one.
Each lesson will consist mostly of what you want to discuss regarding the subject. Lessons can be both online or in-person (if you reside near my location), depending on your needs.
My lessons are aimed at anyone above the age of 12 years old at any music level (up to UNISA grade 7/Trinity Grade 8 for piano practical), as long as they have a passion for music, and want to learn.
