About Kathryn
I’m a Northwestern University graduate with a dual degree in Journalism and Political Science, trained in rigorous writing, research, and analytical thinking. Professionally, I’ve spent over five years at NBCUniversal and Universal Content Productions, where I regularly draft, edit, and analyze written materials for executives and creative teams. I specialize in helping students strengthen writing structure, reading comprehension, and clear argumentation. My sessions are organized, supportive, and focused on building real-world communication skills alongside academic success.

I can teach grades 4-10 and assist them with any of their class assignments. I can also create assignments that strengthen your critical thinking and writing skills. By the end of a session with me, the student will:
Understand how to structure a strong paragraph (topic sentence, evidence, analysis), improve clarity and sentence flow, strengthen analytical thinking in writing.
A good example of an activity would be a quick write, some topics include:
“Describe a challenge you overcame.”
“Should social media have age limits?”
“What makes a good leader?”
I would have you write one paragraph and then we'll go over sentence structure, organization, clarity, grammar patterns, and a depth of explanation.
