About Roland
My name is Roland Jonker. I obtained a degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering namely B.Eng(Electrical and Electronics) at the North West University (Potchefstroom campus) which is equivalent to a Honours Degree. I have a lot of experience in software development and computer systems as an engineer. I have experience in lecturing InformationTechnology programming subjects like Introduction to Programming, PHP, MySQL, and JAVA. Also have experience in teaching subjects like Networking and Computer Systems and Architecture. I also have a passion to teach Mathematics, Science and Electrical Technology subjects. My passion lies in grooming students to fully grasp fundamental concepts and to lay a solid foundation to kick start their careers in the various applicable fields.

My lectures are presented in English and Afrikaans and are aimed at Maths, Physical Science, Computer Science and Electrical Technology subjects for high school students as well as Electrical Engineering college students. I have extensive experience in computer systems and software development as an engineer. I have a passion for teaching computer systems and programming by teaching students fundamental concepts and also how to think systematically and analytically as a programmer like in the subject Introduction to Programming. My lectures are based on grasping fundamental concepts with typical examples and reaffirming them by doing exercises. Teaching fundamental concepts in subjects like Mathematics, Science, Electrical Technology and Electronics is also a passion of mine.
