About Edward
I am a graduate of the 3-year classical acting course at Cygnet Training Theatre. I have worked for the last 7 years as Associate Artist for the critically-acclaimed theatre company The Pantaloons. I have led countless workshops on Shakespeare, improvisation, comedy, acting technique, and have auditioned many actors both at drama school auditions and auditions for professional acting work.

I teach people from age 11 up. From ages 11-16 my focus is on the rudiments of movement, voice and characterisation. Above that age I aim to help students identify what type of performer they are, what style of performance suits them best, whilst continuing to train the fundamental skills essential to their craft.
I can work in either workshop-based or one-on-one environments according to the wishes of the client, and can tailor the content of my teaching to the needs of the student(s). Specific areas of expertise are improvisation, stagecraft, audition technique, and text comprehension (particularly Shakespeare).
I draw my teaching methodology from practictioners such as Chekhov, Laban, Stanislavsky, Mamet and Lecoq. However, I am not an adherent to any one particular philosophy of acting, preferring rather to provide students with the tools with which to discover their own philosophy and style.
