About Alexander
I am an NHS neurosurgeon in-training and have extensive experience in clinical tutoring and medical education. As an Anatomy demonstrator at King's College London my average student satisfaction rate was 9.3/10, over 250 hours of teaching full-time.
My post-graduate education degrees and certification including a Post-Graduate Certification in Medical Education and I am a Fellow of the Healthcare Education Academy (FHEA). I am currently enrolled in a PhD program at St. George's University of London, looking into Biomarkers in neurosurgery for pain.
My A levels included English Literature, Chemistry, Biology and Latin and I was the junior Classical Reading champion in Sussex, three years in a row. Public speaking and English Literature are personal passions of mine.

I like to take a patient, flexible, and fun approach to tutoring. It's important to me that each lesson is tailored to meet the individual needs of my students. I always make sure to communicate with parents, so we can work together to monitor progress, discuss areas that need improvement, and set homework assignments (if necessary).
For me, education isn't just about providing correct answers. It's about teaching students how to ask good questions and develop their critical thinking skills. Most importantly I want my students to enjoy learning.

I have known Alex for a number of years in his previous role of Education Academy Fellow for Neurosurgery at Barts Health.
Alex was a well respected member of my team and experienced surgeon and educator. He has experience of teaching both school children up to post graduate medics often through innovative methods.
Alex has taught young adults contemplating a career in medicine as part of our outreach program for local schools. He is passionate about science, and is able to explain complex concepts in a clear and engaging way.
I highly recommend him as a tutor.
Rachel Crisp, Simulation and Clinical Skills Lead, Barts Health
Alex has been my mentor and tutor for almost 7 years now. I've been working with Alex in all sorts of science topics related to my medical studies, and Alex's tutorship has been an absolute game-changer for my studies. Alex is not only super knowledgeable in their subject area, but they also have a way of explaining things that just clicks with me.
I feel so much more confident and capable now when studying - Alex has also imparted knowledge on how to study and prepare for delivering my best on exam day too, going beyond what all tutors have done in the past. Alex is patient, kind, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure I understand the material. I really can't recommend him enough.See more recommendations
