About Erin
I am a NYC-based singer, pianist, and educator who has taught a private voice studio for the past 6 years. I have worked with teenage and adult students from a wide range of musical backgrounds and vocal styles. I have worked with students on audition/competition preparation, stage presence, acting, general musicality, and repertoire building.
In addition to an extensive education in classical voice, I also bring strong backgrounds in choral singing & directing (10 years), classical and collaborative piano (15+ years), music directing, musical theater, and music theory. Education: B.A. Williams College (Highest Honors in Music with Thesis in Vocal Performance)

My teaching is grounded in classical techniques that promote healthy singing and can be applied to the variety of musical genres that my students are exposed to. In lessons, students will practice basic music theory and sight-singing, fostering musical independence and the ability to read and learn their own music.
I build my lessons around the student's singing goals, using engaging and appropriate repertoire to teach technique that will support the student's individual vocal journey. In general, new students can expect to begin their studies with a focus on using the whole body and grounded breath to sing, as well as an introduction to sight-singing and music-reading.

Details
I offer both 40-minute lessons (recommended for younger or beginning students) and 60-minute lessons (for more serious students interested in working on a greater volume of repertoire). Online lesson pricing is as follows:
40-minute single lesson - $55
4 x 40-minute lessons - $200
60-minute single lesson - $75
4 x 60-minute lessons - $280
I also offer the option for in-person lessons at student's residences. If I travel to you, I charge a flat rate travel fee of $6 per lesson.
