About Maya
Hi! I’m Maya, a college student studying Neuroscience with a strong passion for Spanish language and culture. I’ve continued my Spanish studies at the university level, and I truly love helping others build confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish.
I have experience working with children through leadership and community programs, and I really enjoy creating a positive, encouraging learning environment. I understand that every student learns differently, so I tailor my sessions to match each student’s pace and goals. Whether we’re reviewing grammar, preparing for a test, or practicing conversation, I make sure lessons feel engaging, structured, and supportive.
My goal is to help students not only improve their grades but also feel genuinely comfortable and excited about learning Spanish.

Growing up speaking 3 languages at home, I've loved linguistics and have always wanted to learn a new language. Spanish has always been a topic that has fascinated me. From the culture to the structure of the language, my goal is to show others why I've fallen in love with Spanish.
As your tutor, I hope to achieve my goal through interactive games, reading simple, yet fun poetry, and sharing my tips and techniques that have improved my Spanish skills. Outside of our lessons, I want to assign you fun (I promise not boring) homework such as listening to two Spanish songs and discussing the lyrics at the following lesson.
I would be honored to be your tutor, specifically if you are in elementary, middle, or high school, or if you just want to learn for fun! I am not a native speaker. Therefore, I would be the best at tutoring at the beginner or intermediate level.
