About Andrea
Hello! I’m an academic mentor specialising in supporting autistic, ADHD and dyslexic learners who are bright but struggling to thrive in school. I am neurodivergent myself (autistic, ADHD and dyslexic) and bring both lived experience and a calm, neuroaffirming approach to every session.
I hold a degree, Master’s and PhD in Geography / International Development, giving me a strong academic background — but my focus is on helping learners succeed in ways that work for them, rather than traditional teaching or exam-focused methods.
I support students with organisation, executive functioning, study skills, confidence, and managing burnout or school-related anxiety. Sessions are tailored to each learner and delivered in a steady, encouraging way that respects their pace and needs.
Where helpful, I also offer subject-specific support in GCSE and A-level Geography, including content clarification, exam technique, and coursework planning — always integrated with mentoring and confidence-building support.
I work best with families who want a supportive, structured space for their child to rebuild confidence, find strategies that suit their brain, and make school feel achievable again.
Disclaimer: I am not a therapist or SENCO. My sessions provide academic mentoring, guidance, and support within clear boundaries. They are not medical, therapeutic, or counselling services, and are intended to complement, not replace, any professional care or school provision.

Neurodivergent Academic Mentoring
I support autistic, ADHD and dyslexic learners to engage with education in ways that work for their brain. Sessions focus on skills, confidence and sustainability rather than pressure or compliance.
This may include:
Organisation, planning and task initiation
Executive function and study skills
Breaking work into manageable steps
Essay and coursework planning (without writing for the student)
Revision strategies that don’t rely on rote memorisation
Exam stress, anxiety and sensory overwhelm
Rebuilding confidence after academic burnout
Support is tailored to the individual and delivered in a calm, neuroaffirming way.
