About Riley
I’m NESA accredited secondary teacher with experience working across diverse school contexts, supporting students academically and personally through structured, relational teaching.
Outside of teaching, I am deeply committed to my own personal growth and evolution. I train regularly, reflect deeply, and actively pursue skills that require patience, effort, and resilience. When not teaching, you would likely find me reading, kickboxing, or going on wholesome adventures with my partner. I believe that confidence is built through continuous, daily action and awareness, and that discipline is the highest form of self-respect, which enables conviction in oneself and achievement. These principles guide how I live and how I work with students. I aim to model the habits I encourage in others - consistency, purpose, curiosity, and accountability - so that students are not just taught these values, but see them in action when in my class.
What draws me to this work is not marks or dot-points, but the process of helping students understand themselves as humans and learners. Over years of working with thousands of students, I’ve seen that engagement and perspective matter far more than raw talent or ability. When students feel safe, supported, and held to fair standards, they are far more willing to improve, take risks, and make productive mistakes both academically and socially, fostering better humans.

My lessons focus on developing literacy, confidence, and clear thinking, rather than chasing short-term or superficial goals such as marks. I work with students to understand how they learn, why they struggle, and what practical strategies help them improve consistently over time.
Sessions are structured, calm, and engaging. Each lesson typically runs for 60 minutes and combines explicit skill instruction, discussion, real world examples, and guided practice. I always prioritize positive attitude, effort, and consistency over raw ability or natural talent, as these are the strongest predictors of long-term progress and development.
I am an accredited secondary teacher and currently work as a Coordinator of Small Group Tuition, leading targeted literacy and numeracy intervention programs in a gov. secondary school. I have experience across diverse school contexts and student needs.
My lessons are best suited to motivated high-school students who are willing to engage, show up consistently, and take responsibility for their learning. Literacy level is not a barrier: attitude and commitment matter far more.
